Peter Seungjune Lee
Peter Seungjune Lee is a doctoral researcher at the KIT BioRobotics Lab (IAR-HCR). Prior to joining KIT, he completed his Master of Applied Science degree in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering (specialization in Soft Robotics, Alumni Gold Medal Recipient) with the Microfluidics Laboratory at the University of Waterloo, Canada. During his master's program under the supervision of Prof. Carolyn Ren, he focused on research and development of novel fluid-driven soft robotic actuators. He delved into hyperplastic material testing and characterization, non-linear FEM modeling and simulation, and developed modular soft robotic end-effectors comprised of soft fluidic actuators. He also received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering (specialization in Mechatronics) at the University of Waterloo in 2021.
Peter's current research interests include human-centred investigation and design optimization of rehabilitation lower limb exoskeletons. Under the supervision of Prof. Katja Mombaur at the KIT BioRobotics Lab, he is currently investigating the changes in human biomechanics and energetics during human-exoskeleton interaction, particularly during the exoskeleton adaptation process, with the goal of transferring the new knowledge toward development of human-exoskeleton coadaptive methods.
